"Leadership is essential for building the kind of new and unusual cultural environment in which Lean/IPD projects succeed. If a Lean/IPD project does not have strong overall leadership, the entire project is at risk of reverting to traditional project delivery methods."

-  Bill Seed
   Transformational Achiever Coach

Of course, your job goes far beyond putting out fires. But it's an apt description for how important your role is in the construction process. And that role extends to a project embracing the Lean process. As a field leader, your attendance at this year's Congress is crucial because companywide Lean transformation is impossible without your knowledge and Lean leadership skills on the project site.

Your Congress breakout session highlights:

  • "Now is the 'Right' Time to Implement: A Panel of Superintendents' Lean Development" features two superintendents' Lean journeys and how they led their team to successfully complete projects well ahead of schedule.
  • Panel 12 will offer participants the knowledge to create a relational climate on the jobsite that enables a successful Lean Integrated Project Delivery System through a collaborative environment and continuous improvement.
  • Panel 9 will teach attendees what worked for two superintendents in developing Last Planner® on their projects and what behaviors were proven successful in making the foremen own and run Last Planner® System as a self-managing team.

"Superintendents are a natural fit for Lean as they are the ones constantly putting out the 'typical' fires we experience in the construction industry."

-  Brandon Van Zeeland
   Senior Production and Quality Engineer
   The Boldt Company

Don't forget about our Congress Training Days Monday and Tuesday!

As a superintendent, you must motivate your team to always be on the lookout for ways to improve the project's outcome, so sign-up for Tuesday's one-day training course, Villego® Last Planner® System Intensive Simulation. The participants will take on common roles found on project sites such as trade foremen, superintendents and project managers and they will then build a building out of LEGOs® as a team within a given budget and time constraint. The goal is for participants as a team to learn the importance of engaging all elements of the Last Planner® System to ensure success.

Remember, Congress seats are limited so sign up now! We hope to see you at LCI Congress this year.

Sponsorship Opportunities

LCI invites you to participate as a sponsor at our 18th Annual Congress. Congress has enjoyed a 40% growth rate in attendance over the past three years with 999 registrants in 2015...and 28% of the companies in the $712B construction market have implemented at least one lean practice. That's huge buying power. Hit your top prospects and launch your lean journey at the LCI Congress 2016!
