Join us for a summer book club.  We’ll be reading Radical Candor by Kim Scott and discussing how its concepts relate to the Lean principle of Respect for People. As the publisher notes, “The idea is simple: You don’t have to choose between being a pushover and a jerk. Using Radical Candor—avoiding the perils of Obnoxious Aggression, Manipulative Insincerity, and Ruinous Empathy—you can be kind and clear at the same time.” We start with this virtual meeting, and from there we’ll use bookclubs.com to keep the conversation going.

Making Value Targets Visible in Target Value Design
Northern California Community of Practice

Target Value Design (TVD) has gained significant traction in the construction industry as a means for more reliably delivering capital projects within an allowable budget while optimizing for both cost and overall value to owners. At its core, TVD challenge teams to collaboratively establish cost targets and then steer project delivery towards that set target rather than cost-estimating a prescribed scope.

The Missing Element in LPS®: Project Level Planning
Webinar
Learn more
Traditionally, the Last Planner System® has started with Milestone Planning. It was a one-time event meant to include the entire project team. But most projects do not work that way. And it misses an important aspect of planning. In this webinar we continue a new line of thinking started in the 2020 Process Benchmark for the Last Planner System®. We will present a simple approach to better planning at the project level, the level where we determine the strategy for executing the work, the “how” of construction. You will learn how to put this process to work right now on your current project. Learning Objectives: 1. Understand Project Level Planning and why it is important. 2. How it functions as...
