Exploring the Value of Respect for People (Cascadia-Portland CoP)

Many of us have accepted the concept of Safety as a Value – something that is beyond a priority. Is “Respect for People” a similar Value? Please join our Portland Community of Practice for an interactive discussion on how these concepts are evolving within the construction industry and the steps each of us can take to promote them. Participants will lead the conversation as we consider how we respect the craft workers that make our industry possible as well as the design and management teams that support them. You are sure to come away with an enhanced appreciation for the importance of Respect for People as a Value.

Speakers:

• John Strickland, Burns & McDonnell - John has been a pioneer in bringing innovative thinking to the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry for many years. His background includes jobsite and corporate construction operations leadership combined with extensive study and research of project delivery systems. He has been active in LCI since the organization was formed in 1997.
• Dan Heichelbech, Southland Industries - Dan has been working in the industry for over 25 years and a part of the Lean Community of Practice since 2012. He’s had a hands on approach that understands where our successes come from….those in the field actually doing the work.”
