Please join the DC Metro and Mid-Atlantic Communities of Practice for a three-part series where we will push past talking about what we should or could be doing to improve, and get to the actual implementation. This series will not only be a conversation about potential lean improvements, but also will include follow up sessions that support participants through the process of implementing lean tools or practices.
The series will start with a lean coffee where we discuss your specific challenges in design and construction and corresponding potential lean improvements. Participants will form work clusters that will each stay together for the following sessions and collaborate to implement what was discussed in the kickoff on their own projects.
Christian Pikel, managing principal and senior coach with The ReAlignment Group, brings a unique insight and novel approach to Lean/IPD coaching for teams and organizations, defined by a diverse career spanning more than two decades in the design and construction industry as design/build trade manager, preconstruction and project developer and serial builder owner. This is coupled with Christian’s ten years of experience as practitioner and student of lean construction on over 30 IPD projects.
The two follow up sessions will focus on the experience participants are having on their projects and troubleshooting challenges that arise, work clusters will prepare brief report out presentations (5 minutes) to share their results, challenges and questions. Sessions will be facilitated by lean coaches and practitioners who will be able to advise on best practices based on their personal experience.
This event is meant for all levels of lean expertise- beginner to advanced. Participants should be anyone looking to improve something on their project, or for those struggling to adapt an old tool to function in a new virtual workspace.
By registering for this July 31st event, you are also registering for the follow up sessions on August 14th and August 28th.
