Hear from six superintendents in this engaging and no B.S. event. First we'll hear from three generations of Superintendents all with Herrero Builders in a recorded 27 minute session from LCI Congress that ranked as one of the top presentations from that week-long conference this past October. Then engage in some live Q&A with three generations of local Superintendents, all with experience using Lean tactics and techniques.

Overview of Herrero Builder's presentation -
“Field-Focused Lean, as told by Three Generations of Superintendents”

Summary: The most far-reaching & impactful means of creating more Value in the way we deliver construction projects remains changing the way teams interact with one another in the field. So, what motivates field productivity, or inhibits it, to achieve its maximum potential? How can we shift the tone of the Field from ‘chaos management’ to ground zero for establishing a Lean project culture? In this program, you’ll hear from three different perspectives—three generations of our inimitable leaders in the Field: Tom Guardino, a 30-year veteran General Superintendent who’s seen it all & understands better than most, the Value to be gained from leveraging Lean; David Dachauer, a 15-year Superintendent whose career has grown alongside & been shaped by Lean from its inception; & Bodie Bloyd, a 5-year Superintendent who is rising in the ranks to assume full jobsite responsibility & represents the next, tech-savvy wave of Lean implementation. Our Leaders will share practical & honest feedback on what’s working in the Field & simply, what’s not. Discussion will be driven by the wisdom gained through firsthand experience, as well as the daily challenges faced on-site. Most importantly, we’ll provide actionable steps toward implementing Lean in the Field to achieve more organized, agile, & focused teams.

Discussion will cover:

  • Common Industry Misconceptions
  • Empowerment, Communication, & Culture
  • Reliable Commitments & Workflows
  • The Crisis of Overburdening
  • Future of Field Management.

Live Q&A with three generations of local Superintendents:

  • David Corona, Sr. Superintendent - Landis Construction (30 years industry experience)
  • Glenn Austin, Sr. Superintendent - Palmisano (22 years commercial construction)
  • Corey Ferguson, Superintendent/Foreman - Dove Mechanical (16 years industry experience)

No previous Lean experience required. Join other industry stakeholders working to solve chronic industry challenges by leveraging Lean thinking and practices.
