Some of the most impactful improvements happen in the field with people doing the work. Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) are an inclusive and engaged effort of the GC, Safety, and Trade Partners to focus on repetitive operations for the sake of quick improvements that pay dividends for the workers’ well-being and the productivity of the operation through waste identification and reduction. Best practice of RIE’s include utilization of a PICK chart to prioritize identified improvement efforts as a team with the trades. PICK (Possible-Implement-Challenge-Kill) charts can be utilized in various applications where an individual or team is trying to compare level of effort vs. level of reward.
