We have all been impacted by Covid. Some are clamoring to return to business as usual and some will continue with their transformational efforts. Which category are you in?
This event, which will be facilitated by John Turner of Gafcon, will start with a panel session with representation from four groups:
- Salla Ekhardt – Director of Transformation Services at Microsoft - representing the Owner.
Salla is an industry change agent specialized in digital transformation of the digital building lifecycle. She is recognized as one of the most innovative and forward-thinking people in the sector. She has helped Microsoft unify a clear vision around the Digital Building Lifecycle framework: consolidating the physical, social, and digital environments as a data-centric entity, and empowering the end-user experiences with emerging technologies.
- Ricky Guevarra – Regional Design Technology Manager at Gensler representing the Design Process
Ricky is a Design Technology leader with over 20 years of combined expertise in BIM and Digital Design – guiding innovative AEC/O organizations to continually leverage leading-edge technologies. Ricky is a Regional Design Technology Manager for Gensler and has expertise in the areas of BIM strategic planning and execution as well as human-centric digital design standards development and implementation. He thrives on empowering practitioners to continually improve project delivery with client-first design technology approach solutions.
- Chris Heger – Chief Innovation Officer of OAC representing the Construction Process
Chris is a respected builder who has been pursuing excellence since 1991, specializing in healthcare, biopharmaceutical, and large, high-tech campuses. A believer in the phrase “The process is the product,” he drives to build teams and facilitate processes that deliver great projects and experiences for his clients. Chris’s breadth of experience across the spectrum of the industry makes him truly unique.
- Jordan Al-Kahtani – Senior BIM Integrator at Gafcon, representing the supporting technology
Jordan provides owners with subject matter expertise in the management of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) activities on their projects. His role is to ensure that standards, processes, and systems are defined and implemented effectively on their capital programs and projects. He has experience on a wide variety of projects, most recently on a global rollout of hyperscale data centers on behalf of a Fortune 50 client.
We will explore how the members of the panel were impacted by having to work remotely, how they reacted in order to keep their projects moving and ask them to confirm which category they will be joining, business as usual or transform. Their experiences and knowledge will provide some great learning for us all.
Following the panel session the Program will move into a Lean Coffee where the audience will be asked to reflect on one topic that was raised by the panel and report back to the meeting with thoughts and recommendations relevant to the directions which could be pursued.
