Developing a culture of continuous improvement is an uphill journey. The Improvement Kata is one tool that can help you on your way. Inspired by the book Toyota Kata by Mike Rother, hear real examples and learn how to implement this tool. Applied to your project, office or personal work, the Improvement Kata takes a structured approach to developing the mindset and behaviors of continuous improvement. This presentation is designed for those new to lean as well as seasoned practitioners. The session will discuss theories behind the Improvement and Coaching Katas. We will share examples of implementation on construction projects and a step by step process for application.
Maren Moss is a Superintendent at JE Dunn Construction. She has been part of the JED Lean Champions program since July of 2019 and has been participating in weekly coaching session specifically related to lean concepts and practices. Maren has been implementing Last Planner System on projects for several years and has a passion for public speaking and sharing her learning experiences.
Kyle Wood is a Project Manager at JE Dunn Construction. He is a participant in the JED Lean Champions program. In addition to participating in weekly lean coaching sessions Kyle has several years of implementing lean principles and pull planning on Healthcare projects. Kyle is passionate about coaching others and actively practicing PDCA.
Jeremiah Sugarman is a Senior Lean Specialist at JE Dunn Construction. He is involved with lean training, Last Planner System project support and driving lean culture.
