Reflecting on Our Final 2025 CoP Leaders Gathering
Last week, Community of Practice (CoP) leaders from across the country came together for our final gathering of 2025. During the session, we participated in an activity called What’s Your Why? — a chance for each leader to share their personal motivation for leading their CoP and to reflect on their vision as they begin planning for 2026.
This exercise set a thoughtful tone for the afternoon, sparking meaningful conversations about the actions leaders took this year to strengthen engagement within their communities.

A special thank you to our CoP leaders who openly shared their experiences — both successes and opportunities for improvement:
- Brad Nelson, Hensel Phelps – Arizona CoP
- Kevin Howie, McCarthy Holdings Inc. – Austin CoP
- Jaren Baughman, Southland Industries – DC Metro CoP
- Dennis Hoffman, RNGD – New Orleans CoP
Each of these leaders represents a LCI corporate member organization, and we are grateful to their companies for supporting employee participation in CoP leadership. Their commitment helps advance our shared mission and strengthen the Lean community nationwide.
Thank You to the 2025 LCI Congress Conference Exhibitors and Sponsors!

We hope you had a chance to join your Lean community at the unforgettable LCI Congress last week. LCI would like to say thank you to our 2025 LCI Congress exhibitors and sponsors for helping make this year’s event possible!
By supporting keynote addresses, networking receptions, coffee breaks, the golf tournament, and more, our sponsors helped make it possible for the Lean community to come together in Arlington, Texas. And by sharing their solutions and innovations, our exhibitors helped drive valuable partnerships and progress throughout our Lean design and construction community.
Our exhibitors and sponsors helped us create an extraordinary learning and networking experience, provide high-impact sessions and events for attendees, and showcase the very best of Lean thinking, solutions, and practices. We’re thrilled to acknowledge their contributions.
Member Connections
Member Survey: We Want to Hear from You
LCI’s Membership Survey was emailed to all members earlier this month and will close on Friday. If it’s in your inbox, please take a few minutes to complete it. Your input is the “C” in our PDCA process and your feedback directly informs how we deliver value, strengthen community, and prioritize resources. Your participation is critical. Reach out to Maryann if you need a new email sent.

Next, watch for our Education & Certification Engagement Survey. This follow-up will help us:
- Measure industry engagement and the value of Lean for individuals, projects, and the industry.
- Shape future learning and programs that advance practitioner capability and results.
- Understand how Lean practices are being applied—and requested—across the field.
Together, these surveys ensure LCI’s offerings reflect what you need most. Please complete both and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Thank you for helping the industry build better.
Make Your Voice Heard: Participate in the University Adoption of Lean Education Study

The LCI-funded research project, University Adoption of Lean Education in Accredited Design and Construction Curricula, is seeking participation from professionals and educators across the industry!
This important initiative aims to expand the teaching, and ultimately the application, of Lean practices across the design and construction industry.
- Faculty/Academic Participation: If you are interested in learning more or nominating a colleague, please contact Dr. Sagata Bhawani.
- Industry Participation: If you would like to get involved as an industry coach or partner, please complete this interest survey.
Dr. Bhawani and Dr. Alves will follow up with additional information and are also available to schedule one-on-one conversations to answer any questions.
Your engagement will play a key role in advancing Lean education and preparing the next generation of industry leaders. Thanks for your support!
