Sweat Equity: Putting People at the Heart of Lean

Georgia Community of Practice
Nov 4-4, 2026

Join the LCI Georgia Community of Practice for an interactive workshop with Jesus “Jesse” Hernandez Jr. of Depth Builder, sponsored by JE Dunn, focused on putting people at the center of Lean improvement.

Too often, improvement efforts focus on optimizing outcomes without considering the impact of work on the men and women in the field. In this workshop, Jesse will introduce a people first approach to identifying and eliminating the unnecessary burdens that make work harder for our trade partners. By removing friction from daily workflows, we can improve production, unlock the creativity of craft professionals, build trust, and improve quality of life for the skilled workforce.

Drawing on field tested tactics and a leadership philosophy rooted in serving people, Jesse will equip attendees with practical tools to identify hidden improvement opportunities, overcome resistance to change, strengthen standards of care for the workforce, and build buy in with trade partners. Participants will leave with a repeatable approach to making meaningful improvements at the field level and cultivating stronger, lasting relationships with the people who make construction happen.

Come connect with fellow construction professionals and explore how a more compassionate approach to improvement can strengthen our teams, support our trade partners, and advance Lean practices across the industry.

Speaker: Jesus "Jesse" Hernandez Jr - Depth Builder

From grading ditches to guiding executives, Jesse’s career proves one thing: leadership is about people, not titles. Today, he helps construction leaders humanize the work, optimize the execution, and scale the improvements. His training blends field-tested tactics with a people-first approach designed specifically for the trades.
