What to expect at the 2019 Lean in Design Forum
Practitioners on all different paths of their Lean journey will return home from the 2019 LCI Lean in Design Forum with cutting-edge improvements they can apply to their daily work . For the first time, a theme of Driving Design Excellence Through Innovation & Collaboration will be the focus of discussions and interactive sessions. Here’s what you can expect from this must-attend design industry event in Chicago, May 29-30.
Day one – Wednesday, May 29
Upon arrival, attendees will pick up their badges in the registration area then connect with practitioners during breakfast. The crowd will then move on to their selected learning sessions such as The Visual Decision Plotter™, Mindset of an Effective Big Room and others. The day will conclude with a welcome reception in the Exhibit Hall to give attendees the chance to network and discover innovations brought by this year’s exhibitors and sponsors. Attendees can earn up to eight AIA CES units and eight AGC-CM Lean CE hours by participating on day one.
Day two – Thursday, May 30
Attendees will pick up breakfast and come together in the plenary room to learn from Cliff Moser’s keynote address on Architecture 3.0. After the keynote, attendees will take a short networking break before returning to the plenary for more sessions on Biophilic Design and Realizing Lean Design Efficiencies through a Digital Design-Build Approach. New this year is an interactive plenary panel, Change or They’ll Do It To Us, featuring a survey of the crowd in real-time. Attendees will walk away with ideas they can implement right away.
After another opportunity to network over lunch, attendees will join two interactive roundtable discussions on Lean topics such as set-based design, integrative design approaches and more. To conclude the Forum, attendees will gather to exchange closing thoughts and conduct a Plus/Delta that will be used to improve next year’s program. Attendees can earn up to six and a half AGC CM-Lean CE hours for participating on two.
Each part of this year’s agenda is packed with valuable, applicable and tangible takeaways for Lean in design practitioners to bring back to their firms. If you haven’t already registered, sign up now before your preferred learning sessions and roundtable discussions reach capacity!
