Adult Mental Health First Aid Certification — Virtual Training

Earn your Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification through this skills-based virtual training that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in adults.

Format: This is a blended virtual course. You'll complete 2 hours of self-paced pre-work online, followed by a live 8-hour virtual instructor-led session. To earn your certification, you must complete all pre-work and be present for the entire virtual instructor-led session. Additionally, you will need to pass an online exam administered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The cost of all materials and the exam are included in your registration fee.

Your certification is valid for three years.

What you'll learn:

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
  • How to support someone experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Ways to connect a person with the right help and resources
  • Strategies for assisting someone who may be thinking about suicide

Registration details: Sessions are limited to 15 participants. Registration closes two weeks before the training date to allow time to complete required pre-work. Participants must be U.S. residents to be eligible.

Cost: LCI Members — $25* | Non-members — $170
