Member Connections: SR Construction Completes West Henderson Hospital Using Lean Methods

Congratulations to SR Construction, an LCI Corporate Member who recently completed the construction of the West Henderson Hospital in Henderson, Nevada.

This project, which began construction in March 2022, was completed on-time and under budget thanks to the utilization of Lean methods such as early stakeholder involvement and complete collaboration between the designers, construction team, and project owners.

Curated Content: The Power of Big Rooms in Construction Projects

In construction, poor communication can be a project’s biggest obstacle. When teams are siloed, it’s almost impossible to implement Lean principles effectively. With so many people and teams often working across different locations, the breakdown of communication leads to delays, errors, and confusion—making the delivery of value to stakeholders difficult.

Lean principles aim to eliminate these barriers, fostering more direct and effective communication across all teams. One of the most effective tools for achieving this is by using a Big Room approach. The object of a Big Room is to bring together key project team members into a shared space, facilitating real-time discussions and decision-making to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and reduce inefficiencies.
