Member Connections: PDCA: “Checking” Your Work
The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle is a core method in Lean that supports ongoing improvement. Whether you’re just beginning your Lean journey or aiming to fine-tune existing efforts, PDCA provides a clear and effective structure.
After implementing your planned changes during the “Do” phase, the next step is to “Check” the results.
Once you’ve begun to implement your organizational Lean improvement, you’ll proceed to the “Check” phase of the PDCA cycle. During this time, you and your team will analyze the results of the change and measure its short- and long-term impact.
Gather feedback from your team to assess what has been working and where further fine-tuning can take place.
For more information on all parts of the PDCA process – including key resources you can leverage when “checking” your work – download LCI’s new guide for LCI corporate members: Getting Started With Lean: A Guide for Organizations New to Lean. In it, you’ll find valuable resources such as an A3 template, a 52-week suggested Lean stand-up schedule, and more!
Download this resource from the Member Hub under “Guides, Reports & Research” on the right-hand side-bar.
