Add Gemba Day to Your Congress Experience!

Wrap up LCI Congress by going to the places where the work happens! Available as an add-on to Congress registration, Gemba Day takes place Friday, October 16, and gives attendees a first-hand look at Lean implementation on active projects and production environments throughout the Atlanta area.

Each Gemba Walk is led by an experienced Lean-practicing coach who guides observation, facilitates discussion, and helps attendees connect Congress learning to real front-line work.

This year’s Gemba Walks include:

  • Georgia Department of Agriculture Building RenovationObserve Lean practices in action on the renovation of a historic state building being transformed into a modern workplace.
  • Palmetto Data CenterJoin us on a Gemba Walk of a hyperscale data center currently at approximately 30% completion, with underground utilities and superstructure work in place.
  • The Henry – Visit an active mixed-use tower project near Truist Park! JE Dunn’s team will walk us through how they are implementing Lean on the jobsite, and the tangible impact it has on team culture, coordination, and project delivery.
  • Vantage GA21Observe a Production Control System and daily management practices in action, with a focus on how the Last Planner System® supports safe, predictable project delivery.
  • VitalSpace Manufacturing & Healthcare Modular ProductionExplore how VitalSpace uses Lean manufacturing, standardized workflows, visual management, and disciplined quality controls to translate healthcare design intent into predictable, high-quality modular production.

Space is limited – add Gemba Day to your LCI Congress registration today!

Member Connections

More than a Decade of Knowledge at Your Fingertips

Congress is coming up and we hope to see you there! Something worth highlighting: as a corporate member you, and everyone in your company, have access to presentations from every Congress since 2010.

That’s more than 15 years of Lean content, available on-demand to your entire organization in the Member Hub every day.

Here’s some food for thought: during breakout sessions, you can only sit in one room at a time. As a member, your company has access to every breakout session’s materials, including the ones you or someone from your team couldn’t attend. Depending on the presentation, that might mean a PDF of the slides, audio of the talk, or full video.

And if you’re looking for something specific, from 2020 forward, presentations are searchable by content, so you can find exactly the topic your team needs without digging through years of session titles.

One note: presenters choose whether to share their materials, so coverage isn’t 100% across every session. The majority do grant permission, which means you’re sitting on a genuinely deep library.

Think about what this means for your team: pull a session on Conditions of Satisfaction, Target Value Delivery, Last Planner System®, or virtually any Lean topic, and build it into a lunch and learn. No travel budget required, no long hours building a deck, just access you already have with corporate membership.

Ready to put decades of presentations to work? Head to the Member Hub to browse the archive, and if you haven’t registered for Congress yet, now’s the time. Registration rates go up on July 31. (And if you’re not a member, reach out to Maryann Fiala for more information on what you gain with corporate membership.)

Bring Your Leadership to LCI’s Future

The future of our industry will be shaped by leaders who can connect people, systems, field reality, and long-term strategy into a stronger whole.

LCI is inviting applications of interest for future board members representing the design community and trade partners who can see the larger ecosystem of the design and construction industry clearly while staying connected to operational reality. Strong candidates bring respect for field knowledge, a learner mindset, sound judgment in uncertainty, and the ability to integrate competing priorities into practical action.

If your leadership is rooted in service, collaboration, accountability, and long-term industry stewardship, we invite you to submit your interest!

Submissions must be received by midnight EST on July 13, 2026.

Nominations for The Pioneer Award Close This Month!

Submit your Nomination for The Pioneer Award, LCI’s Highest Honor The LCI Pioneer Award recognizes a firm or individual who has made a meaningful impact by embracing and implementing Lean thinking, tools, and techniques. LCI corporate members can submit nominations through midnight ET, July 31, 2026. The winner will be honored at LCI Congress on October 15 in Atlanta, GA.

Chicago CoP Honors Award and Scholarship Recipients at Annual Bob Krier Award Night

The Chicago Community of Practice was honored to host its annual Bob Krier Award night on June 3rd. Each year, the Chicago CoP recognizes an individual who has moved the design and construction industry forward by advancing Lean as an operating system at this annual event. The award is based on implementation of Lean design, construction tools and techniques, innovation in implementing Lean tools and its impact on the community.

Lean Pulse: Are You Relying on Heroes, or Strong Systems?

Projects become more reliable when success depends on strong systems instead of a few individuals constantly stepping in to solve problems. While experienced team members are invaluable, Lean thinking encourages teams to improve the processes, communication, and coordination around the work so performance can be sustained across the entire project.
