Volunteers like you lead LCI Communities of Practice!

On April 17, LCI hosted the Communities of Practice (CoP) leaders for its annual spring Big Room. At this meeting, CoP leadership identify common challenges and work to identify countermeasures that support the desired outcome. This year a key topic of discussion was CoP Core Group (CG) integrity. This included recruitment of new volunteers, commitment, engagement and succession planning.

LCI CoPs serve as local forums to connect people, enable dialogue, stimulate learning, improve skills, and share knowledge. They are where industry professionals across the entire project supply chain and learn from one another, this benefits the design and construction industry as a whole.

If you are excited to make new industry connections, grow your Lean skill set, and help lead the direction of your local CoP, reach out to your local CoP leadership at its next event or contact Denise Erminger, Manager, CoP Relations for an electronic introduction to your CoP leadership to explore volunteer opportunities.

Coming to Design Forum and want to learn more about LCI’s Certifications?

Join us for the opening keynote presentation at Design Forum on Wednesday morning to celebrate the official launch of the new LCI-Certified Practitioner-Design (LCI-CPD). Discover the industry Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) who assisted in the development, along with how you can start your path to certification.

LCI Certified practitioners with the LCI-CPD or LCI-CPC (Certified Practitioner-Construction) stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. Their credentials highlight their real-world experience of Lean competencies and knowledge necessary to be an effective Lean practitioner.
Pledge to make 2024 the year you invest in yourself with the LCI-CPC and/or LCI-CPD.

Sound decision-making is essential for the success of any Lean project, and the Choosing By Advantages (CBA) method offers a structured approach to achieving this. In the dynamic landscape of project execution, unforeseen challenges often arise, underscoring the importance of equipping team members with the skills to address issues effectively. By fostering a culture of informed decision-making, organizations increase their likelihood of generating optimal value from every situation.

CBA is a tested and effective decision-making system developed by Jim Suhr in 1999 for determining the best decision by looking at the advantages of each option. Click the curated content banner above to learn more about CBA!
