Celebrating a Milestone: Jeremy Jones Becomes LCI’s First CPD Certificant
We are thrilled to announce Jeremy Jones as the very first LCI Certified Practitioner – Design (LCI-CPD). Jeremy’s journey sets an inspiring example for Lean practitioners looking to elevate their skills and credentials.
When asked for his advice to those considering certification, Jeremy emphasized the importance of preparation and documentation. “For the exam, read through the articles on LCI’s website on the subjects that will be on the test. Study the Last Planner System®,” he said, noting that the materials are readily available to help applicants succeed.
For the portfolio submission, Jeremy stressed the value of saving everything. “You really do have to have been an active participant in an actual project using Lean tools. Save everything—if you create an A3, participate in a 5-Why retrospective, or lead a pull-planning session, take a picture or save the output,” he recommended. This proactive approach, he explained, ensures you won’t have to scramble to gather materials when it’s time to submit.
Jeremy views the portfolio’s requirements as a positive: “It makes you prove you actually know how to put the tools into practice.” His experience underscores how certification requires not just knowledge, but hands-on, real-world application.
Congratulations to Jeremy for setting such a high standard as the first LCI-CPD certificant! Ready to take the next step in your Lean journey? Apply for the LCI-CPD today or visit our CPD homepage to learn more.
