The 5 Questions

  1. What hurdles did you encounter when implementing Lean on a project (or in your company), and how did you tackle them?
What story or stories can you share about a successful Lean project (or company-wide Lean implementation effort) you participated in, and what do you think made it work?
  2. In your opinion, what are the biggest benefits of applying Lean and how have they impacted your projects, your teams, or your organization?
  3. How do you assess if your Lean game is strong; are there metrics or techniques you rely on and can share?
  4. If someone’s just dipping their toes into Lean, what advice would you offer from lessons you’ve learned?

LCI New Orleans Community of Practice Hosts Engaging Owners Workshop

LCI Communities of Practice (CoP) bring LCI’s mission to life – driving a culture shift that transforms the way our industry builds, collaborates, and innovates.

On September 17, the LCI New Orleans CoP hosted “The Art of the Ask” Owners Workshop that brought together facility owners and leaders from across the New Orleans region for an energizing half-day of learning, conversation, and collaboration.

Featured speaker Denton Wilson shared his expertise on The Structure of Collaboration and challenged the group to think differently about the owner’s role in project leadership, alignment, and results.

A special thanks to the owner panelists for their openness and insights: Alicia Crowell, Associate Vice President of Design & Construction – Tulane University; Robert Lapeyre, Partner – Laitram; Meg Allen, Director of Project Management – Ochsner Health; and John Woodard, Vice President – Stirling Properties.

This event would not have been possible without the intense efforts of the New Orleans CoP core group volunteer team: Tom Weathers, AIA, Dennis Hoffman, Greg Lusignan, Rebecca Cooley, and Grant Alexander. Your dedication to growing your local Lean community makes all the difference.

Event participants left with new ideas, strengthened connections, and momentum to keep improving how projects are delivered in the region. The New Orleans CoP expressed that it is excited to build on this momentum and continue creating spaces where owners and leaders can learn from each other and push the industry forward.
