WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lean Construction Institute (LCI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannyn Heyer, MBA, a long-time consultant for the organization, as its first-ever Chief Financial Officer. Heyer assumes expanded executive leadership responsibility for financial strategy, planning, and organizational sustainability.

“Shannyn brings a depth of institutional knowledge and financial acumen, and a collaborative approach that aligns perfectly with our mission,” said Brian Perlberg, CEO of the Lean Construction Institute. “Her appointment and leadership role continues LCI’s evolution in support of our mission to transform the industry by advancing Lean principles.”

Heyer is a results-driven financial leader who has spent her career supporting mission-driven nonprofits and growing organizations through strategic financial planning, forecasting, and operational improvement. Her work emphasizes transparency, ethical governance, and Lean-aligned decision-making that connects financial strategy directly to organizational purpose. While Heyer is now LCI’s newest full-time employee, she is LCI’s longest-tenured staff member overall – initially hired by LCI co-founder Greg Howell.

As CFO, Heyer will play a key role in aligning financial strategy with LCI’s long-term goals, supporting organizational resilience, and enabling continued investment in the Lean construction community.

“I’m honored to step into this role and continue supporting LCI in a deeper leadership capacity,” said Heyer. “LCI’s mission and community have been an important part of my professional journey, and I look forward to helping strengthen the organization’s financial foundation to support continued impact and growth.”
