LCI Board Member Interest Submission
Thank you for your interest in future board leadership for the Lean Construction Institute.
LCI is seeking candidates who can help advance Lean design and construction through strategic leadership, practical impact, and responsible industry stewardship.
The future of our industry will be shaped by leaders who can connect people, systems, field reality, and long-term strategy into a stronger whole. As LCI continues to grow and serve the Lean community, we are looking for board members who can think beyond their own organization or specialty, stay grounded in the realities of project delivery, and help guide the Institute with clarity, humility, and purpose.
To apply, submit either a written abstract (2–4 pages) or a video response (5–10 minutes). Both formats are equally valid. All submissions should address the four focus areas below.
1. Impact
Describe how you have helped improve construction outcomes through Lean principles, systems thinking, collaboration, or organizational improvement. This may include operational improvement, workforce development, culture change, capability building, team alignment, or industry leadership. What did you set out to accomplish, and what changed as a result?
2. Strategic Perspective
Describe how you balance the tensions inherent in leadership, including strategy and execution, long-term vision and present realities, standards and adaptability, and performance and people development. LCI is especially interested in leaders who learn from feedback, adapt to changing conditions, and stay connected to frontline realities while operating at a strategic level.
3. Leadership Approach
4. Collaboration & Stewardship
Describe a time you helped unify people, teams, or organizations toward a larger goal. How do you approach disagreement, complexity, or competing priorities? What does responsible stewardship of an organization or industry look like to you in practice?
