Douglas Lacy serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Technical Director at WSP, a global engineering and advisory firm, contributing to the Property and Buildings practice with a focus on integrated, multi-disciplinary project delivery.
With a background in Architectural Engineering and licensed as a Professional Electrical Engineer, Douglas is committed to breaking down silos and works to connect disciplines and perspectives for the benefit of clients and project outcomes. Douglas’ experience is primarily focused on critical environments such as Life Sciences, Data Centers, and Healthcare—particularly children’s healthcare. As a licensed electrical engineer, he brings technical knowledge in power systems and infrastructure yet sees these skills as tools to serve teams and clients rather than define his identity.
Douglas strives to support teams through guiding by the principle of continuous improvement. Focused on removing barriers to foster collaboration and encourage innovation. Believing that every project is an opportunity to learn, he approaches work with curiosity. Encouraging teams to embrace Lean thinking, challenge assumptions, and seek better ways together, with a belief that we must create an environment where shared problem-solving can thrive. He sees involvement in the Lean and Alternative Delivery community as essential for mutual learning to better the built environment and the industry that delivers it for our society. Above all, Douglas aspires to help teams grow, learn, and deliver value. His goal is to work alongside others in pursuit of better outcomes for projects, the buildings industry, and overall, the people we serve.
