Mentor: Justin Wise, Principal - Stantec, is an architecture and design professional with 18 years of experience integrating the planning, design, and management of the built environment. Justin’s notable projects include multi-million dollar hospital and clinic design, as well as work in the commercial and hospitality sector. Justin is passionate about lean and integrated project delivery and actively manages several ongoing IPD/IFOA projects in California.
Mentee: Alex Marquez, Architectural Project Manager - Stantec, holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture. Alex is experienced in education, biotech, healthcare, church, food establishment, corporate projects, mixed use buildings and alterations.
Mentor: Felipe Engineer-Manriquez, a best-selling author and keynote speaker, is the Project Delivery Services Director at The Boldt Company and host of The EBFC Show podcast. Renowned for driving change in construction with Lean and Agile practices, he simplifies work processes significantly. As a Registered Scrum Trainer™ and Lean Construction Institute Chairman’s Award recipient, Felipe leads through coaching, social media, and his book, 'Construction Scrum.'
Mentee: Guillermo Prado Luján is a Production Engineer at The Boldt Company with 5 years of experience in public and private capital projects. Passionate about Lean, IPD, VDC, and industrialized construction, he applies innovation and operations science to improve project outcomes. Guillermo is driven by a purpose to create real value for society through sustainable, resilient construction—always challenging the status quo with integrity and a deep respect for people.
Mentor: Larry Summerfield, SE holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering and has worked for Buehler Engineering as a structural engineer and Associate Principal for 35 years. He has specialized in improving the design process through developing and incorporating tools on many Lean and IPD Healthcare projects. He has presented at LCI COP’s and LCI Congress on the use of Lean tools such as the Last Planner System, Choosing by Advantages, BIM and Target Value Design.
Mentee: Jordan Beach, PE, Assoc. DBIA holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in structural engineering. Jordan has been a dedicated member of the Buehler team for almost three years. During this time, Jordan has played a large role in several design-build and integrated project delivery projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.
Mentor: Karen Conrod is a seasoned project executive at Herrero Builders with over 25 years of experience delivering complex, multi-million-dollar healthcare projects focusing on risk management, construction operations and executive leadership. She brings a practical approach to leadership and is passionate about mentoring and talent development, ensuring teams are equipped to tackle challenges to deliver projects.
Mentee: Misty Hogue brings nearly a decade of expertise in construction risk assessment and mitigation strategies. As Senior Risk Management Generalist at Boldt and certified Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), Misty ensures Boldt’s projects are safe, efficient, and built on a secure foundation. She is passionate about giving back to her community by volunteering her time at a weekly food pantry in San Francisco.
